ReHouse Bay

In the wake of Hurricane Michael, the lack of affordable housing has emerged as the most pressing challenge for communities in Bay County.

The Florida Legislature recently appropriated more than $36 million in funding to Bay County to address unmet housing needs through the Hurricane Housing Recovery Program (HHRP) and the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP). ReHouse Bay programs are currently underway to help survivors access affordable housing; County staff are working to quickly and efficiently distribute all available housing assistance funds.

Mission

ReHouse Bay is dedicated to improving lives in Bay County through empowering residents and connecting them with affordable, sustainable housing solutions. We believe that investing in housing will not only support our community’s recovery from Hurricane Michael, it will also support long-term economic and community development. Our charge is to rebuild, rehouse, and revitalize Bay County.

In an effort to reach as many eligible survivors as possible, Bay County launched ReHouse Bay to raise public awareness about available programs. The purpose of ReHouse Bay is to help households seeking assistance navigate state housing programs and understand specific eligibility requirements. ReHouse Bay covers all of incorporated and unincorporated Bay County, except Panama City.

If you are a current or future resident of Panama City, please visit the City of Panama City Community Development webpage or contact them via phone at (850) 872-7230.
